Guardian warehouse loot!

In a last few days in Malaysia during the summer, I stumbled upon a Guardian warehouse sale. They were selling selected cosmetics, skincare, toiletries, etc for cheap.

Not many things caught my eye since I went during the last day of the event and most of the items have been sold out. I still manage to get some items from the clearance sale.

Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes in PK722.

This went from close to RM60 to RM20.
It has a beautiful selection of pinks and neutrals. A feminine neutral palette.

Like most Asian brand palettes, the finish is shimmery. Shimmer finish somehow makes Asian eyes pop out even better, it sort of brings life to our small eyes.

Another item I got is the Avene Cleanance K Cream Gel. I have been using it everyday since it is going to expire in a few months. Would I compare it to my La Roche Posay Effaclar K?
Well, my skin has been doing well with this cream alone so do when I use the Effaclar K but texture and scent wise, I like La Roche Posay better. Avene has a funky scent.

Birthday FOTD

I can't just express how much I am impressed with the L'oreal Million Lashes Noir Excess Mascara, because oh wow It just made me went from Asian lashes to va va voom lashes.

My lashes just look so long and voluminous. I was so impressed and amazed.
I never knew a mascara can make my lashes look like this.

Side view.
You can how long my Asian lashes look. I am so in love with this mascara.

The products used for my eye makeup are, L'oreal Million Lashes in Noir Excess, Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eye Mascara (bottom lashes), Majolica Majorca Jeweling eyes in PK722, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette, Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Stingray, Etude House Drawing Eye Brow.

I just love how soft matte my skin look for this FOTD.
I have to thank the Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation for helping me achieve this beautiful soft matte look. This foundation just promises what it promises to deliver, a soft matte look. I am still sad over the fact this foundation is discontinued but thank goodness there's the Chanel Perfection Lumiere to back it up.

The list of face makeup I have used. Etude House Face Conditioning Cream in Light, MAC Minerlaized Skin Finish Naturial, Urban Decay Naked Flushed in Native, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and 3CE Full Coverage Concealer.

For my lips I lined my lips with Essence Lipliner in Wish me a Rose then topped it off with Chanel Glossimer in Jalousie.

A better lip swatch with the Chanel Glossimer in Jalousie.

Travel Diary : Santorini : What's in my makeup bag - Santorini edition

Santorini is one in a lifetime chance for me, I really want to look good in my photos and also through out the whole trip. It is a really vain statement from me but who doesn't to feel beautiful in a paradise.

Here are the makeup I packed to the island. For me, I feel that I didn't go overboard with my makeup packing, I packed an substantial amount of makeup.
The location is different for my picture because I took this picture on the marble table outside of my hotel in Santorini.

Let's go through the makeup one by one.

L'oreal UV Perfect Sunscreen. Santorini is one sunny and hot island, SPF is definitely a necessity unless you want to come back super sunburn with skin peeling everywhere and looking really tan. I definitely do not want to be have a sunburn (it's painful!), extra tan and also sunspots.
Nature Republic Vanilla Sky Makeup base. This is the only makeup base I have in my collection then, it is not a 'wow amazing' base, it does its job and I am those that can't live without a base, I feel a base is an essential layer to protect my skin.
Bourjois CC Cream. This is my favourite CC Cream. Just those days when i want a light layer on my skin, I would just slap this CC Cream on the go. It has great coverage and a light texture which is great for the hot weather. The Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation is also one of my favourite foundation, I just thought that I would bring a high-end foundation along for the days I wanna feel luxurious and all glam up.
MAC mineralized skinfinish natural is currently my HG powder, it sets my makeup for the whole day.

Garnier 2 in 1 Corrector is for kicking away those awful dark eye circles, ol' cheapie but goodie. The only downside, it often explodes in my makeupbag when I take it travelling with me. I don't know is it the cabin pressure causing the explode all over.

Catrice Lip & Cheek Colour in Neo Geisha. Nothing can go wrong with a hot pink cream blush. I like using cream blush in hot weather, they stay put longer and they look better on the skin too. For those lighter and tone down days my choice would be the L'oreal Nude Magique BB Blush. It is a self adapting blush which gives a light hint of pink on my cheeks.
ELF Studio Blush in Gotta Glow is my handy highlighter

Essence waterproof eyeliner is the only liquid eyeliner I had then, I bought it before the trip hoping that this eyeliner doesn't smudge and melt under the heat like my Maybelline gel liner does. Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara for the my top lashes and Maybelline Volun' Express Cat Eyes Mascara for my bottom lashes.

Eyeshadow is the Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow in Gold Rush and Essence Metal Glam eyeshadow in Chocolate Jewellery. Simple neutral colours that stand out.

I am really into lip products thus I packed extra lip products so that I have more choices. Essence Lipliner in Wish me a Rose is a neutral pink lipliner that complements a lot of colours. It also gives a hint of colour to the lips on those days I just want to be light on my makeup. Kiko Double Touch Lipstick in Pink Mauve is pretty much the budget dupe of the MUFE Aqua lips.
Innisfree Vivid Tint Rouge in 08 is a beautiful baby pink, the only not in the pink family is Yves Rocher Mediterranean Collection in Copper Sun. Since I am in Mediterranean location, wouldn't it be nice to have this lipgloss with me and feel all Mediterranean. Copper Sun is a beautiful bronze, it is just so summery and it really looks good with a bronze goddess type of look.
L'oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in Rose Melody. This is one of my favourite lip product and lip colour. i just have to bring it along with me.

One missing product that is not in the picture is the L'oreal Collection Privee Lipstick in Julianne's Nude. I was using that lip colour on that day so I left it in my handbag.

That is all the makeup I packed to beautiful Santorini.

New favourite lipbalm : Nivea lipbutter

Autumn weather has been getting really cold in Moscow. It has been hitting sub-zero at night and at dawn.
So when the month gets colder, every part of my skin starts to crack and peel like a snake and I can't live without body lotion and lip balm.

Let me introduce you a lip butter that I have been using every night to wake up to supple and luscious lips.

Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose.

I bought mine in Rive Gauche (Рив Гош). It took quite awhile for them to arrive Russian shores. I spotted them about last summer. My first tin was bought in London circa 2012. It was the creme brulee and it smells so good.
I would eat the whole tin if I could.

For the raspberry rose, the scent of this lip butter is very berry-ish. It just smells so good but not as good and close to yummy as the creme brulee.

The lip butter appears pink in the tin but when applied, it doesn't appear pink. It somewhat looks milky on the lips, not very a good look on the lips, that's why for me, I will only use this lip butter before bed.
I don't want to appear to have 'milky' lips in public.

Despite the milky appearance on the lips, I really like this lip butter. Every night applying prior to sleep, the next morning, I will wake up with soft, supple lips.

The consistency isn't too slippery nor sticky, it feels just nice on the lips, not heavy too.

A swatch on my lips. The milky film doesn't translate well on camera but in real life, it is quite unflattering. Despite that this is my favourite lip butter. It saved my lips from chapping, leaving me with soft lips through out the day.

Nude kick!

Lately, I am been venturing more into the nudes instead of my normal pinks. Surprisingly, I am starting to find nude flattering on me. It doesn't look as dead on me as I thought before, maybe because I had master the skill of choosing the right nude shade.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Notting Hill Nude.
Notting Hill Nude is Rimmel's most famous nude colour. I heard it is compared to Tom Ford's Spanish Pink minus the pink tones.
Notting Hill Nude is a beautiful brown-town nude with slight pink undertones. It is not too light nor too dark thus it complements fair to medium skintones without washing out or looking dead on the lips.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Let's Get Naked.
Let's Get Naked is a pinky nude. Pinky nude is one of my favourite nudes because of the pink tones in it that gives a touch of girlyness and cuteness to any look.

As compared to Notting Hill Nude, Let's Get Naked has a stronger pink tone and it is slightly lighter.

I really like the formulas of the Moisture Renew lipsticks by Rimmel. They are so creamy and they glide on the lips like butter which makes application much easier. The finishes of these lipsticks are slight glossy because of their moisturizing properties.

The last lipstick I picked up is Maybelline Tantalizing Taupe.
This is a repurchase, it's my favourite nude lipstick from Maybelline. I forgot to pack this lipstick with me when I left home last Summer. So I thought I would pick up another tube (Doesn't hurt since the price isn't wallet breaking).

That's all for my nude lipsticks that I have picked up from the drugstore

Around Moscow : Light Festival

The Circle of Light festival was held in Moscow from the 10th - 14th of October this year. I made my way to two different event venues this year and oh boy, every location was jam packed with people, especially the first 3 days. The metro was flooded with humans and everyone was trying to inch their way out from the metro. It was the a great fight through.

The first location we visited is Ostankino. The opening ceremony will be held in this location and fireworks are going to be let off too. We wouldn't want to miss a firework show.

The Ostankino TV Tower

Unfortunately I won't be able to post up the fireworks video but you can check it out on my instagram @suzucchi_

I didn't get into the park since we were running late. We just came on time for the fireworks and by the time the fireworks were done, it was pretty late and it is quite some distance walk back to the metro station.

We stopped by the Vdkha park since it is really near to the metro.
The light show is beautiful. It is just such a pity, I didn't wore thick enough to withstand the cold night wind so I had to leave early.

The photos didn't came out as beautiful on the first day since all I had was my phone camera which doesn't do justice to photos taken at night.
Fear not, the second time I went, I made sure I brought along my compact camera and photos turned out beautiful.

For the second time, we went to Tsaritsino Park.
It was a weekday so it isn't as pack and crowded. We still have space to wonder around and walk freely.

We are greeted by the beautiful illuminated front gates of the park after a short walk from the metro station.

Little flower lights all around the park.
I don't mind the flower lights aesthetically pleasing compared to last year's light ball display.

You can see my past blogpost regarding the light festival in the same park here.

The ethereal illuminated bridge across the lake. It is really beautiful.
I can't stop taking 142843 pictures of  this bridge.

Just too breathtakingly beautiful.

This. I can't seem to figure out what is this at all. It is like a 'cave' with dangling lights all over it and randomly in the middle of the lake.
Worse, it doesn't translate well in photos.

Light in many languages from Italian, Chinese/Japanese, Russian, French, Hindi and ofcourse English.
I am amazing that I can figure the languages out, I am just joking. The Hindi one was difficult to figure out, I thought it was Tamil.

Light show at the palace. It was crowded.

Beautiful light dresses on display. I would like that as my wedding dress. Ok, I am just joking.
Anyway, it is gorgeous.

That ends my light festival journey this year.

Magic nude : Little haul

The L'oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint has finally arrived in Moscow shores. I heard a lot of rave reviews about this foundation from the blogosphere and how much it compares to the Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation.
Ofcourse, me being me, I couldn't not pick up this foundation. It would be almost sinful to not pick it up!
My shade is 100 Porcelain. I am not the fairest person on earth but I am in the lightest shade for this range for foundation. So girls who are lighter than me might not have a match in this range. By the way, I am a NC15-NC20 in my skintone.

The packaging for this foundation is very chic and classy with the frosted glass. It looks almost high end. The only downside about this foundation, there is no pump dispenser which increase the risk of spilling the foundation everywhere, making a great foundation mess.

Max Factor Color Elixir Lipsticks are on sale. I haven't tried Max Factor Lipsticks before, so I thought this is a good chance to try them out.

I got two colours from the range 735 Maroon Dust and 711 Midnight Mauve.
I found it really hard to get colours I like from this range as most finishes are either metallic or frosty. Metallic or Frosty finishes are my most hated finish for lipsticks, it makes me look as if I am stuck in the 80s or 90s. It doesn't look good on me at all.

After selecting for about an hour, I finally settled for these two colours.

Midnight Mauve is a purple-pink plum shade with slight shimmers. The shimmers do not bother me at all since upon application, the shimmers are barely visible.

Maroon Dust is one of the rare cream colour from the collection. It is a peachy nude with some orange tone.

The packaging is very expensive looking, it reminds me of Estee Lauder packagings because of the gold and the see through colour indicator at the bottom.

FOTD : Mid-Oct Festivals

There was an event in Moscow City yesterday so it is finally a day for me to dress myself up and look great. I will do a post on that event in the next blogpost or so but now let's hop to the FOTD.

FOTD -
I used the Etude House Face Conditioning Cream Light as my base and the Missha Cho Bo Yang BB Cream. I have refound my love for this BB Cream. It is one of the best BB Creams I have ever used. It is really full coverage but like me, I don't like too full of a coverage, I will a small pea size to cover up my whole face and my skin still looks so good like second skin. The finish is a soft matte.

My powder is the ELF Tone Correcting Powder in Shimmer. Under bright lighting and close up view, I can definitely see a lot of shimmers on my face. Really, it isn't visible in real life unless the person has macro mode eye powder or they are standing 1cm away from your face.Still, might not be the powder for everyone especially those with enlarged pores.
I quite like this powder but it is under the "OMG FAVOURITE" list. From afar, the powder makes my face look like as if it is 'glowing', there's a very nice dewy look to it, not a disco ball mess. It is beautiful.

Blush and Highlighter are my usual Catrice Lip and Cheek Colour in Neo Geisha and Topshop Glow Stick. For bronzer, I used the bronzer from my Urban Decay Naked Flushed in Native palette.

Eyes, I finally used the Majolica Majorca Jeweling Eyes Palette in PK722 which I got from a Guardian clearance in Ampang Park Mall. Not too bad, not too bad. Beautiful shimmery colours that complement the Asian eyes. My primer is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance which is really old and I need to get it done before Summer so I could get another new tube in Sephora when I get back to Malaysia.
Mascara is the L'oreal Volumissime x4. Like the x5, it gives me the most beautiful long and voluminous lashes but it smudges on me. What a bummer but I love the results it gives my lashes.
Eyeliner is my Stila Smudge Stick waterproof eyeliner.

Lip colour is Pupa Princess Shiny Lip Fluid in Nude Rose. I am loving nude lips on me of late despite it does wash me out a little.
This lip colour is absolutely beautiful on me and it looks really natural on me. It is one of those nudes that is close to a 'my-lips-but-better' on me but lacks a little pink tone that is naturally present on the lips.
It is pretty sad that this lip fluid is a limited edition product from the brand. I would have to look for other nude lip colours that is close to this.

From this angle, you could see how much the highlighter and powder is giving me the dewy effect.

A walk in the park : Tsaritsino Park

Autumn is a beautiful season where the leaves colour the town orange and yellow.
It is also the perfect time to hit the park before the gloomyness of Winter takes away the colour of life.

A beautiful view of the garden from beside the lake.
They were workers prepping up the bridge for a light festival happening next week around Moscow.

Yellow and Orange all over the park and also packages of black rubbish bags of leaves.

Topped on with Etude House Face Conditioning Cream in Light, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, 3CE Full Coverage Concealer and ELF Tone Correcting Powder in Shimmer.
Blush is Catrice Lip and Cheek Colour in Neo Geisha, Bronzer is The Body Shop's Honey Bronzer in 01, Highlighter, Topshop Glow Stick.
The combination for my eye makeup is Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Etude House Drawing Eye Brow and Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Volume & Curl Mascara.
Lip colour is Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Midnight Mauve.
