New favourite eyeshadows : L'oreal L'ombre Pure Eyeshadows

I picked up another two L'oreal Colour Rice L'ombre Pure Eyeshadow. From my previous post, you might have already know how much I love these drugstore eyeshadows. They are one of the most impressive if not most impressive drugstore eyeshadow I could ever used.
Reviews are also in that post.

So, I couldn't resist not picking up another two shades since they were on sale. It is a crime not picking them up.

L'oreal Colour Riche L'ombre Pure Eyeshadow Nude 200 Over The Taupe

Just like its name, it is a beautiful taupe. The beautiful average everyday wash of colour on the lid.
I am pretty safe with my eyeshadows, they are always in the neutral category aka my comfort zone.

L'oreal Colour Riche L'ombre Pure Nude 205 Sable Lame

This is a beautiful light brown-champagne colour. It makes one of the beautiful all over the lid colour.

Gold Mania (Left) and Over the Taupe (Right)

My happy family of my L'oreal Colour Riche L'ombre Pure Eyeshadows.

Eating out : Maki Maki Sushi

Maki-Maki is a sushi chain in Moscow.
They are celebrating their 5th anniversary and they had coupons online for 70% off their whole menu until the end of September
70% off is such a saving, so I took the plunge and went dining out in Maki Maki.

I visited the shop on a Monday afternoon leaning towards evening, the restaurant wasn't pack since it was an odd hour to eat. It is better to visit restaurants at odd hour because less customers equals better quality control.
Serving isn't the fastest thing on that day but it is still acceptable, I didn't need to wait to the point of annoyance.

I am also glad that the day I visited, there were no smokers. The air quality was excellent. I wonder has the ban been implemented? Because, smoking ban never work in Moscow. They even smoke in hospital grounds!
Also, It can get annoying that people smoke in indoor cafes in Russia with minimal ventilation. It is a very bad etiquette practiced in Russia.

We ordered a sushi set (XS sushi set) and four separate rolls.

Russian Sushi is pretty much like the western sushi, lots of mayonnaise (not Japanese kewpie), cream cheese and even dill to suit the western palate.
It is not the tastiest sushi but considering for what I paid, it is well worth it. The cream cheese and mayonnaise does make it tastier and also unhealthier.

With 70% off, I paid 636.60 Roubles for the meal.Without the coupon, the meal sums up to 2122.00 roubles, which is pretty expensive for a poor university student like me.
With 70% off, it is a great saving with eating out prices in Moscow being very pricey.

Spendaholic girl

Good news or maybe not so great because I might have been splurging too much cash around but I have accumulated enough spending in Rive Gauche ( A beauty and perfumerie chain in Moscow) to have finally switched my standard card into a gold card.

A standard gold card allows me to enjoy up to 30% savings on certain items which is quite a great deal for high-end cosmetics.
Even so, I do not buy high end cosmetics in Moscow even with the savings because high end European cosmetics are still cheaper in Malaysia. Unless if our currency goes a little higher and roubles drop, then I would consider buying high-end there but for now Malaysia is still my choice for high-end European cosmetics.

I will not talk too much about 'Rive Gauche' first because I will be doing a guide on where to shop cosmetics in Moscow.

To accumulate my last 200 points. I picked up an item from the store.

I bought the same item from Pupa in the last haul, the Pupa Princess Shiny Lip Fluid in 004 Nude Pink. It is a past collection item thus the discounted price.

This time I went back and got the 002 Nude Rose. It is a beautiful beige nude with rose undertones, a very flattering neutral for everyday.
This was the last one standing in the counter. I just had to get it.
Among the four colours available, I find 002 Nude Rose and 004 Nude Pink are the most flattering colours.

Travel Diary : Sandakan, Sabah Day 2 - The English Tea House and Restaurant

In the middle of the tropics, one would never imagine themselves sipping their afternoon tea and enjoying pastries and scones.

After our visit to the Central Market and St. Michael's Church in the morning, we decided to stop by at the tea house to get our afternoon tea fix.

The view across the tea house is not one would expect to see. The suburban street style is great contrast compared to the calm and serene English themed tea house.

The menu book.

Our scones set has arrived.

It comes with strawberry jam and cream. The scones are pretty huge.

A warm cup of Earl Grey Tea.
A pot should serve four cups of tea.
Earl Grey tea is one of my favourite English tea because of its refreshing bergamot after taste. You just feel so awake and fresh after drinking this tea.

My scone with a huge dollop of cream and strawberry jam.

The scones are huge. They are not my favourite scones, they are averagely soft but they lack the fragrant butter smell which make them appeal much less appetizing. Feels like eating average bread.
Maybe I am more particular about scones taste because I have been to London and this can't beat those budget Mark and Spencer scones.

The beautiful view of the garden.

My afternoon tea set.
They were pretty bland besides the pink tiny cupcake which was hiding behind the other cakes.

If you are searching for something different and out of the ordinary in Sandakan, this is a great place for a getaway.

Little autumn loot

I wanted this post to be solely dedicated to the amazing L'oreal Colour Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadows but at the same time I am do not want to do another post just for the Pupa lipgloss. So let's mesh everything into one.

The L'oreal Colour Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow. Ever since, it has been launched. Everybody including their grandmother and aunts have been talking about it, like it has been the most amazing product to be released in the decade.

Let me tell you. I now get the whole hype about it.

This gel to powder formula eyeshadow promises creamy and smooth texture which transforms the make-up gesture into a precise and comfortable sensory application.

L'oreal eyeshadows never fail me, since the "infallible 24hr eyeshadow". The Infallible hits the top list when it comes to drugstore eyeshadow and now this new L'oreal eyeshadow is joining the ranks with it.

The gel to powder eyeshadow feels wet to the touch but offers the most buttery application with intense colour pay off.
It glides like butter and the colour pay off is so amazing. One swipe is all you need.
The shade I picked up is a Lumiere formula in 500 Gold Mania. Gold Mania is the most gorgeous bronze-gold shade I have ever own. The shade has a very luxurious feeling. To add it on the packaging and the whole 'wave' design gave the eyeshadow an even more luxurious look, it looks very high-end cosmetic.
I will definitely go back to the cosmetic shop to collect other shades. I just wanna collect them all ( like a pokemon).

The most beautiful shade ever, It looks like melted bronze-gold in the pan.
So gorgeous and luxurious.

Pupa has been a brand I wanted to try for a long time. I was browsing along the Pupa counter and they had a clearance on their past collection.
I picked up a Shiny Lip Fluid from their 2013 Princess collection.

It comes in a gold packaging with a see through bit so that you can take a peek on the colour. The plastic is very sturdy and thick so the overall appearance is very luxurious and glamorous looking. It looks almost high-end.
I am in love with the packaging.
The shade I chose is 004 Nude Pink.

This is my first Pupa item. So I am excited to try out, this product will be the basis of my first impression on this chic Italian brand.

Confession of a beauty blogger

1. Being a beauty blogger or more like a hoarder, people would think my makeup is beautiful organized in Muji storages. No. My makeup are stacked in my cupboard and some are place in cheap (not pretty looking) plastic storages from Tesco. Not pretty looking but organized enough.

2. I go to university without any makeup on and I like it that day because I am too lazy to wake up early just to get my makeup done. Spending weekday nights burning the midnight oil is dreadful, very minute of sleep counts to pull through long commuting hours, classes and lectures.

3. I never ever once in my life slept with my makeup on. I just love my skin that much.

4. When I was younger, I used to use both top and bottom false eyelashes and lots of blusher to achieve the 'cute' look. Never going back to that era.

5. My beautician used to shave my eyebrows pencil thin.I am glad I stopped her from doing it. I definitely look better with my natural brows. It makes me look more youthful.

6. My skincare has approximately 10 steps. Sounds extreme but it helped tone down the pimples I used to have on my skin and now my skin has pretty much cleared up.

7. I fail at doing hair so much that the best you can get from me is probably not very pretty braids and a ponytail.

8. At my slowest, I take about one and the half hours to get my makeup ready because I probably spent 30 - 45 minutes starring at my makeup collection and choosing products to use.
I can take 20-30 minutes at my fastest.

9. When I buy lip products, I will buy my favourite pink shade in the collection first, then only I will proceed getting other colours, the plums, reds and oranges.

10. I am not a spender when it comes to mascara, I stick to drugstore brands because you have to chuck it off after 3 months. It is such a huge waste if it were a high end mascara, I can't make myself chuck a RM100 mascara away just like that.

Transitioning into Autumn : Lip Edition

As the chilly Autumn breeze sweeps the streets, we dwell into darker, muted, dusty lipstick colours in our collection.
I am not very much a dark lip colour kind of girl, I do use it occasionally. I am more of the muted and dusty colours which are appropriate for daily use.

Here are my five lip product picks for Autumn.

Innisfree glossy lip lacquer in Maple Burgundy Pink, Misty Purple, NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in Zurich, In2it lipstick in Ginger, Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Vinatge Pink.

Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer in Maple Burgundy Pink. This Lip Lacquer is released by Innisfree last fall. Maple Burgundy Pink screams fall. It is a burgundy with pink tones, a unique fall colour, it is mysterious at the same time the pink gives a girly touch to it.
The formula of the lip lacquer is very glossy, it almost has a finish as a lipgloss. Overall, It is more like a pigmented lip gloss instead of a lip lacquer

Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer in Misty Purple. Misty Purple is a purple with strong pink undertones. The pink undertones helps this colour to complement slightly better on Asian skintones. The purple gives a touch of fall.

NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in Zurich. Zurich is a dusty rose. A beautiful colour for every season. The muted tone symbolizes a tone down from the summer fun and brights. Zurich is a very safe colour and it is the perfect colour to pair with any look everyday without being overbearing or bold.

In2it Lipstick in Ginger. This is a Peachy Nude lipstick. Nudes are always in trend no matter what season it may be. Peachy nudes are very flattering on fair and light skin people. It also complements heavier and smokier eye makeup with gold or grey tones for the Fall and also Winter.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Vintage Pink. Vintage Pink is a plummy pink tone. This is an absolutely gorgeous pink for the fall. The plum tones in it gives a mysterious touch.
It is a great try from the typical pale pinks, coral pinks and bright pinks.

These are 5 lip product picks for fall.

Autumn Haul & Hello September

Hello September, summer has gone by just like that. It is time to welcome the chilly autumn breeze and soon we see the leaves turn yellow and we will be dressed with our knitted sweaters.
September also marks a new school semester. Anyone excited?

Back in Moscow, so back to crappy lighting.

Wasn't suppose to haul anything in Moscow but Sally Hansen nail polishes were on sale and I brought back all my nail polishes back home during my summer vacation and I didn't bring any back over here.I am left with zero nail polishes so I thought I needed some.

I need to stop splurging. I spent too much during my summer vacation.
ps. A sephora + high end haul will come soon and you all will get the jazz about the splurging.

'Complete Salon Manicure' , the name just sounds so tempting. Who doesn't want salon nails from home, it saves the time visiting a nail parlour and also money. Money is what we are talking about.

I picked up three colours : Jaded, Shall We Dance? and Commander in Chic

Jaded is a mint green colour. I have lots of mint green and I shouldn't be getting anymore mint colours but this leans more green and muted with greyish tones. It is really soft and right up my alley!

Shall We Dance is a sheer pale light pink. A romantic colour and also an everyday nail colour on the go.

Commander in Chic is a taupe colour. Also one of my favourite colour in nail polishes. It just complements my skintone really well and it gives a very chic (just like its name) touch to daily looks.

The brush of the nail polish is flat and thick. This is how I like it, I find these type of brushes gives fast and easy application.

I have been a L'oreal mascara fan after trying the L'oreal Volumissime x5 Carbon Black. It gives me the most beautiful length and volume with no clumping but sadly it does smudge on me throughout the day, but for that length and volume I can't let go of it. So, I thought I would give another L'oreal mascara a go, hoping it performs like the L'oreal Volumissime Carbon Black without the smudging. The L'oreal Volume Million Lashes Noir and L'oreal Volumissime x4 Waterproof was on sale and I got it.
I like the packaging for L'oreal Volume Million Lashes, it is very chic and sleek. I am excited to try out this mascara.

Max Factor 2000 Calories Mascara. I heard lots about this mascara, since it is on sale, I thought I would give it a try. Have been loving the Max Factor False Lash Effect, hopefully this gives a somewhat same effect on my Asian lashes.
