Walking around Moscow : Kremlin

Moscow, especially Red Square awakes during the summer season with the bright and vibrant colours of the square and standing strong at the corner square the beautiful and colourful St. Basil's Cathedral. It almost feels unreal and like a painting.
Tourist from all around the world flock the square, enjoying Moscow under the temperate weather. Not too cold and definitely not hot at all. Feels like spring.

Woke up early in the morning expecting to fight the crowd to get into Lenin's Mausoleum. No luck. The queue has long formed and by the time we arrived we are almost lining up out of the square.

The Mausoleum opens from 10am till 1pm,
It is advisable to come as early as possible to secure yourself to get into the mausoleum before 1pm. We arrived at 9.30 ish and it took us about an hour before we could get into the mausoleum. The situation is not helped at all with atrocious people cutting queue and the security was not bothered at all.

Outside the Mausoleum, you are allowed to take as many pictures as you like. Inside the Mausoleum, photography is strictly prohibited.

Next stop is Kremlin and The Armoury.
The queue was atrocious, there's barely any system at all. People were cutting queue all over. It took us an hour to actually get our tickets.
Not impressed at all.

For the tickets to The Armoury. There's only two counters that you purchase the tickets from as there's designated sessions and limited tickets into The Armoury.

Tsar's Cannon

Tsar Bell

Cathedrals in Kremlin

It is not allowed to take pictures in The Armoury.
The Armoury provides free audio guide upon entrance. I would say that The Armoury is probably the best museum I have visited in Moscow.

LIP PRODUCT ADDICT TAG

lipstick tag

1. What is your favorite balm or treatment?

It would be the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. I am not the type who splurges on lipbalms and I call this a splurge because it is definitely more costly than most of the lipbalms I have ever own but it is worth every single cent I paid.
Super moisturizing, nice texture on the lips, does not feel oily or just sitting on the lips.

2. What is your favorite eye catching red?

Red is not my to go colour of late but there was once upon a time when I was totally crazy for red and bought every red shade of NYX round lipstick. Those are not my favourite red though.
My favourite eye catching red would be the Chanel Rouge Allure in Passion. Most luxurious red lipstick I have ever own and also went through many considerations and researches before I picked up this lipstick.
Such a beautiful blue red on my skintone. It just brightens my complexion and looks really gorgeous and luxurious on the lips

3. The best luxury and drugstore product?

I am a lip junkie, It is so hard to narrow this down.

Luxury : First one would be the YSL Rouge Volupte(s). The epitome of luxurious when it comes to lipsticks. The texture is wonderful, they glide on the lips on butter and are so creamy. My favourite colour is Fetish Pink.
Everybody is on the liquid lipstick bandwagon and I am one of those girls too. I find it really convenient. Too Faced Melted Lipsticks is my pick. Despite not coming to YSL in terms of luxury, it is still a luxurious product.
Honorable mentions :  NARS Audacious lipsticks Chanel Rouge Allure

Drugstore :  I have a ton of favourite drugstore lipsticks. This is such a hard pick for me.
Bourjois has been my favourite drugstore brand when it comes to almost every product and their lipsticks are no different. The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet and Rouge Edition Aqua Lacque have been my favourite liquid lipsticks from the drugstore to date. They feel luxurious on the lips without the obnoxious price tag.
L'oreal also produces some of my favourite lip products. The L'oreal Collection Privee in Julianne's Nude is definitely my to go everyday lip colour and the L'oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks are my love. I have about 8 of them in my collection. That's how crazy I am for L'oreal's Liquid Lipsticks.

Honorable Mentions : Topshop lipsticks, Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks, Innisfree Creammellow Lipsticks

4. Best MAC lipstick?

I do not own many MAC lipsticks. Among the few that I own, my favourite is Speed Dial. Creamsheen formula are one of the best MAC formula since it is not too drying or loud. It gives the lips a nice wash of colour.

5. Most disappointing lip product?

Etude House Dear Darling Lip Tint is a gloopy mess of lip tint.

6. Lip Liner: Yes or No?

Yes. Especially for reds, a lipliner is definitely necessary to define the lips and stop the lipsticks from feathering or bleeding and all those mess.
I am not picky with lipliner as long they are creamy and longlasting. I do not mind that they are from the drugstore. So, most of my lipliners are from the drugstore. Actually, I just have one highend lipliner.
Essence releases great lipliners and it is the brand I pretty much go to for lipliners.

7. Favorite gloss?

For drugstore, the NYX Butter Glosses are my pick. They are really smooth and buttery. Not to mention , they are really affordable. Coming close are the NYX Megashine Lipglosses. NYX just get their glosses right.
Luxury brand wise, the Chanel Allure Gloss are fantastic. They are smooth, buttery and pigmented. not to mention that the packaging is so gorgeous and sleek.

8. ..Something else?!

I am into the lip lacquer or lip cream type of lip products since they are pigmented, long lasting and a breeze to apply. My top pick would be the Rimmel Apocalips(not the mattes!). They are so pigmented and they last the whole day, even after fading, they still leave a nice wash of colour on the lips. Since they are drugstore brand, they are affordable.

Super mini tiny haul : Maybelline eyeliners

I am back in Malaysia during the Ramadhan and Raya season thus there were many sales going along beauty stores such as Guardian and Watsons.
I was randomly browsing through Watsons and a spotted that there was a buy one get one free sale on Maybelline Hypersharp Liner. Although I never mentioned it before, I like the Hypersharp Liner by Maybelline, infact I find them working much better than their American/European counterpart which is the Master Precise. The felt tip is bendable which provides more flexibility on drawing whereas the Master Precise is a hard felt tip which makes it harder to maneuver along my upper lid. Also the tip much thinner, the tip of the HyperSharp Liner is just 0.05mm!

A buy one get one free is definitely a steal and a girl can never have too many liquid eyeliners. We all know how fast we get through them and even how fast they dry up.

Around Malaysia : Night Market Food hunt

Night Market or more known here as Pasar Malam is a nice place for food hunting or getting miscellaneous items.
This summer in Malaysia, I had the chance to visit the longest night market over here once again.

Here are the few food items I have indulged during my trip to the night market.

Ang Gu Kuih (Red Tortoise Cake), it is glutinous rice flour with green bean filling. It is my facourite Malaysian kuih.
Also, at the back, fried dumplings with chicken fillings.

Assam Laksa

I guess I also fell for this trend.
Apparently this macaroon ice cream is the "it" thing now in Malaysia when it comes to food trend. I haven't been in the country for a year so, I don't really know what's hot and not.
But with many stalls offering this ice cream, I could see that it is the latest trend over here.

I am actually really reluctant to pay RM8 for the ice cream because well, RM 8 is definitely expensive!
In the end, I succumbed to it because I wanted to try it and it might be my first and last try.

For this stall "Zero Temperature", you are allowed to choose two macaroon "shells" of your favourite colour and ice cream flavour of your choice and a topping to custom make your own macaroon ice cream.

This is the end product.
My own custom-made macaroon ice cream.

Verdict?
Well it is not excellent or bad tasting, it is just average. The whole thing is too thick which makes it really hard to eat it without being messy or everything separating up.
It just looks really good in pictures. That's pretty much it.
Definitely not worth RM8.

Turkey haul

I am currently on summer holidays which explains my lack of post. Last week I headed to Turkey for a quick Mediterranean summer gateaway. Before I settle down and arrange my trip photos and finish off my summer holidays with my Scandanivia trip, I will fill the void with a tiny haul from Turkey.

Local Turkish cosmetic brands such as Golden Rose, Pastel and Flormar did not tickle my fancy. So, I did not pick up much cosmetics from Turkey.

I got items mostly from Gratis as they carry Wet N Wild. I have always been intrigued by this brand since it is highly raved in the beauty community for being dirt cheap and great quality.
The prices of Wet N Wild in Turkey is slightly cheaper than in Malaysia. So, I thought why not give it a try.

I picked up two lipsticks and an eyeshadow trio.

From Flormar, I only picked up one item which is a terracotta baked powder.

Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio in Walking on Eggshells.

I am not an adventurous person when it comes to eyeshadow colours. Most of the time, I settle with my comfort zone colours which are the neutrals.

Walking on Eggshells is a really nice neutral eyeshadow trio that suits daily makeup.

Lipsticks in Think Pink and Rose-bud.

I like shades of pinks and roses thus i picked up these two shades since i find them the most appealing to me.

Left : Rose-Bud is a medium rose shade
Right : Think Pink is a true pink shade

Flormar is a local Turkish brand and this is the only Turkish brand item I have picked up in Turkey.

Terracotta Powder in Dual Gold.

Instead of a powder, this powder looks more like a highlighter and bronzer duo to me. What actually got me getting this powder is the gorgeous highlight shade, it is to die for, it is a shimmery champagne shade, the perfect highlight shade. Both of the shades are really shimmery and pigmented.
They can be used as a bronzer/highlight duo or even as eyeshadows. It is pretty versatiles.

Watsons haul : It's great to be back there again

Last month I did went back to Malaysia for a short three weeks. Since I was really busy, I didn't post much about my trip and adventures in Malaysia. Most of my posts have been past drafts.

Now, I am coming to you all with a haul post from Watsons Malaysia.

I have noticed some changes of brands in Watsons Malaysia. It seems like to me, they have stopped carrying Majolica Majorca. This is such a bummer since Majolica Majorca produces one of favourite mascaras ever.

These are what I have picked up from Watsons.

Essence Longlasting Lipliner.

I haven't seen these around in Moscow and I was surprised to see them in Watsons because you know we are actually much slower when it comes to getting Essence releases over here.
When I was looking at the counter, most of the shades are out of stock. In the end, I settled for these two available shades.

Left : Girl Next Door
Right : A Girl's Dream

I own quite a lot of Kate items but they are mostly eye products since for Japanese drugstore brand, I do find that Kate has the best eye quads. They are really gorgeous.
This time I want to try something different so, I got a lipstick from Kate to try out.

The packaging is a sleek black tube.

Kate lipstick in PK-3

The last item I got from this haul is KissMe Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow in 03.

This is an eyebrow mascara. Since I dyed my hair, I thought I would go back using eyebrow mascara to cover the black  in my eyebrows to match my hair. KissMe's has always been my favourite. I have tried Kate's but in the end, I still like KissMe's better because it does not contain shimmers and it is creamier.
