Spring makeup haul : Catrice & Vivienne Sabo

In the beauty shop, some spring collection of beauty products has creep their way to the shelves. Who isn't excited for Spring colours. I for one love the soft girly and also pastels of Spring colours. The new spring collection products are just too beautiful to past.
So, I picked up some items from the Spring collections of various brands from the beauty shop.

I picked up 4 liquid lipsticks from Vivienne Sabo and Catrice's Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette.

Liquid lipstick has been the rave in the beauty world right now. Every brand is trying to push their own version of liquid lipstick. This small little Russian brand isn't different and is on with the trend and released their own version of liquid lipsticks for their spring collection.

Catrice Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette.
I have been eyeing on this palette for a long time eversince I knew that Catrice is releasing a rose version of their eyeshadow palette. I am glad they brought this palette over to Russia because I thought would not see daylight in Russia. I just love the colours on this palette.

I have to mention again that I love neutral shades with a twist of rose or pink undertones .It just gives the eyeshadow a twist of feminine and elegance.
This palette comes in six shadows. It range from beige pinks to smoky purple tones. Perfect for a daytime natural look and also sexy sultry night look.

Vivienne Sabo has release their range of liquid lipsticks for Spring. It comes in 4 shades and I got all four shades. I was lucky to be able to grab all of the four shades as some of the shades were the last piece left standing on the makeup shelf.

The packaging is not the most luxurious looking but I couldn't complain because the price is such a bargain. It comes in a plasticky packaging which isn't too flattering but it is not to the extend toy like. It has a plastic gold cap and gold printing on the plastic tube.

The shades do not have a name but they have a number code. I wish it come with names though, It would be more fun.

205 - A bright neon pink-coral
204 - Hollywood style red
203 - Pale baby pink
202 - Dusty rose

Here comes the swatches.
From top : 204, 205, 202, 203.

From bottom : 203, 202, 205,204

Among all the shades I woulsd say 202 is my favourite amongst the four shades that I have purchased. It is a beautiful MLBB shade and it is very feminine and elegant.

Tiny haul

Just right before leaving for Winter holidays, I popped by the beauty store near my place just to pick up last minute items to prep myself up for the trip.

I just picked up two items and they are kind of boring items.
The ever so hyped NYX Butter gloss and Vivienne Sabo Blush Duo.

NYX finally has arrived in the beauty store near my hostel around November or December last year. Moscovites could finally catch a glimpse of these ever so raved American brand. For me, back in Malaysia, I could get them from Sephora or ordering them online via a spree for a cheaper price.

I have so many butter glosses why did I get another one.

I left all my butter glosses back in Malaysia because I didn't have enough luggage space to bring all of them over. Also, I just wanted to use the NYX Butter glosses during my winter holidays. Not a very solid excuse to get it. To cut it short, I am a hoarder.

I wanted to pick up "Angel's Food Cake" since I didn't manage to pick it up from my last NYX haul because it was out of stock on Cherry Culture then.

Sadly, It was not in stock here too. So I settled for "Vanilla Cream Pie". I already had this shade but since I do not have it with me now, it does not hurt to pick it up.
The butter glosses are definitely great quality lip glosses from the drugstore. They are pigmented, creamy, smooth and buttery, almost everything you want from a lipgloss.

Vivienne Sabo Blush Duo in 13.
I needed a powder blush, this blush duo seems like a convenient for on the go. It comes with a blush colour and a contour colour.
The blush colour is a peachy pink colour. Contour is a brown with peach undertones, it is a very warm brown.
The duo are really pigmented and they do stay on the skin for some time, around 4-5 hours but the downside is, they are really chalky, they are fall outs all over the blush duo now, making it really dirty.
I could not complain much with the price, it is really affordable on the time of purchase.

I have a FOTD featuring this blush duo coming soon.

April 15th haul

It's the 15th of the month, so this is the usual date that I will haul up at the beauty store near my hostel.
Surprisingly this time, I didn't pick up much at all. In fact, I only piked up two items from the store.

Here are the two items I picked up.
Bourjois Blush in 54 Rose Frisson and Vivienne Sabo Charme De Vous Lipstick in 119

I really love the Bourjois Blush Pots, the colours are very beautiful and the whole concept just feels so French Vintage. Previously I own the blush in Rose D'or and I really love that blush. I did a short review over here
What made me get the blush in Rose Frisson is when I came across Estee from Essiebutton talking about it in her Bourjois' brand focus. When she showed it, I just thought, wow! that is such a gorgeous colour.
I knew I just had to get it. So I waited until the 15th when I could get it with a discount. Another colour I wanted was the blush in Cendre de Rose Brune but sadly, I didn't see that shade in stocks.

Rose Frisson is a glowy peachy pink.

It has been a long time since I got a lipstick from Vivienne Sabo. I usually get them because they are cheap and they work great for their price.
This lipstick, I got it from the discount bin. It was on discount for 99 Rubles, which I find it a great steal because in the other stores, they retail for their original price at their stands but in the store I visited, they were in the discount bin.
This colour has been released not too long ago and it is still listed as 'new collection' on their website and I have been eyeing on it since then. I am glad that I didn't grab it when it just released because I almost did.

119 is a deep rose colour that is very flattering on all skintones.

Actually there are few more other items I wanted to pick up especially the Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow in Frosted Apple but it has been swatched, don't you just hate it when people swatch the actual product when there is testers. Moreover, it is the last piece left. So disappointing because it is the only one left and I really love the colour, even my friend said it suits me well.
I guess I have to go the next time to check for a restock.

Post New Year haul

It is post-New Year and I am still on my New Year holidays.

Today I dropped by the beauty supply shop near my hostel. They were having a 18% off New Year promotion which is great!
Since I have not been into the shop for quite some time, I took this time to splurge~!

This time, I picked up four items.

First up, I got a nail polish from Pink Up!
Pink Up! has a great selection of nail polishes this season. They are really glittery and festive looking.
This one is in 06 from their Bright Crystal Collection.

A swatch on my pinky.

This is from Vivienne Sabo's new 2014 collection.
The packaging is so cute thus I couldn't resist getting it. It has a very European feeling design. Great for putting on the vanity.

Camee Relief Eyeshadow in 28. It is a matte cocoa-coloured eyeshadow with a glitter overspray on top.

I might go back to the store to get other items from the collection, because they were a lot of the items out of stock, I hope they would restock . I am interested in the blush, loose powder and lipsticks.

Isn't it so beautiful?
I just don't feel like laying a finger on this product.

Increasing my collection of the Apocalips. One of my favourite lip product because of the colour payoff and longevity.
This time I got Celestial. It is a dusty pink.

I will go back to get somemore especially the reds and the nudes. I should stop getting the pinks.

L'oreal Nude Magique BB Blush.

I have been eyeing on this blush for a long time. It has always intrigue me.
Finally i got it!

Mine leaked a little, It is a cute pink colour. It gets darker when you blend it. I think this colour will look great on fair skintones.
This blush has a silicony feel which I find it interesting. I heard it is also a dupe for the Smashbox O-Glow. I haven't tried the O-Glow, so I can't compare both the products.

That's all I got for my haul

Collective base review #1

This is gonna be a collective base makeup review.
I think it is high time I review some BB cream/foundation I own.

1.Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream
This is the Asian version of the Maybelline BB Cream. I don't know the difference between the Asian and Western version since I do not own the western version.

The texture of this BB Cream is liquidy of a foundation. Compared to Korean BB creams, this leans more to a tinted moisturizer with SPF.
The packaging is a tube with screw top. Since the BB cream is so liquidy, it actually leaks from the nozzle, creating a mess. This is what I hate about the packaging.
Does it promise the 8 things it does?
Brightens - Definitely
Evens - Yeap!
Smoothes - Smoothen? My face definitely feels slightly smoother.
Refines - I don't see anything refined
Clears -  Oh Maybelline BB, you are no pimple busting product. i don't even see Tea Tree extract or Witch Hazel extract or Salicylic Acid in the ingredient list.
Conceals - It evens, it does not conceal hyper pigmentation, dark eyecircles or pimples. You need a concealer for it.
Moisturizes - It is not very moisturizing. Don't skip moisturizer step and use this BB cream!
Protect Skin - Ofcourse! There's SPF and an extra layer on the skin.

It like that it sinks into the skin creating a "no makeup"-like base look. Maybe because it is very light.

Coverage of this BB cream is light to some-what medium. It is buildable but I do not recommend building it because it might make the face look pale.
It comes in 2 shades which caters for skintone NC20 to NC35.
Price wise, it is very affordable, it is good to grab one as a tinted moisturizer.
Oil control is above average, foundation last about 9 hours on me. I am not a very oily girl.

So far, I pretty like this BB cream.
I would give it a 3.5/5.

2.Ninelle Matt Effect Foundation
This is one foundation not available in Asia. I don't know which European countries this brand is available at but I got mine in Russia.
The texture of this foundation is slightly liquidity. It is very light.
Since it is light, the coverage is as light too. It is not buildable but the foundation stays on the skin. It is not very streaky, best applied with a brush, like most foundation.

It evens my skintone, conceals some redness but skin problems like hyper pigmentation, pimples or dark eyecircles, a concealer is definitely needed.
Price wise, it is affordable. I forgot what's the price but definitely comes under the affordable line.
It says it is a Matt Effect foundation but I don't find anything mattifying about this foundation, the finish is satin. Which I like it more than matt since matt can be too flat on the face.
This foundation is quite moisturizing. Oil control wise, it is not very good, stays about 3 hours on my face then magically fades off. My skin isn't oily to begin with.

I give foundation a 3/5!

3.Vivieene Sabo Lifting Care Foundation
I am not sure where Vivienne Sabo is available at. I got mine from Russia.
Texture wise, it is mediumly liquidy. The coverage is medium to full. Definitely buildable but I don't recommend building because this foundation is streaky!
I takes quite a long time to buff in with a brush to achieve a less streaky look. Imagine if using fingers, it is gonna take awhile before the streaks are less visible. Still patches of foundation can be seen on my skin. So dry skin people, just don't go near this foundation.
The magical thing is it looks good on camera (my camera atleast), what sorcery is this.
It conceals most redness and skin uneveness. Dark circles too if they aren't too heavy. For pimples and hyperpigmention some light concealing is still needed.

Price wise, it falls under the affordable range.
Oil control is okay, not too great but not too bad. About 5-6 hours on my face.

A 2.5/5 for this foundation! It still works for me.

4. Vivienne Sabo Ton De Plasir Foundation

Vivienne Sabo is a cheaper range of drugstore makeup find in Russia. This foundation is the most expensive foundation under Vivienne Sabo yet it is still very affordable.
Texture wise is a medium liquid. The coverage is medium to full and buildable.
I got to say this is my favourite Vivienne Sabo foundation because it is not streaky, it has good coverage thus conceals a lot of imperfections but major acne and hyper pigmentation still needs some concealing.
The only complain has got to be the undertone. It has very yellow undertone. I am Asian but my undertone isn't very yellow so it didn't match too well.
Since this foundation is marketed in European countries, I don't know how Caucasian deals with the undertone. If it is marketed for Asians, I would understand because the yellow undertone will suit lots of Asians.
Oil control is above average, this foundation can last the whole day for me with dusting of powder.
Price wise, it is under the affordable range.

I give this foundation a 4/5.

Brown Kick!

Closing the chapter of May with a mini eyeshadow haul.

I just didn't know why I picked up so many brown eyeshadows.
Just had a brown kick and wanted to collect all the brown eyeshadows.

Here are all the eyeshadows I've picked up. All of them are from the brand Vivienne Sabo.
I am not sure if this brand is available outside of Russia but it is a very affordable brand.

So first I picked up two Petits Jeux eyeshadows in colour 07 and 09.
It comes with 3.5g of product which is considered a lot of an eyeshadow. They are priced at 99Rubles (USD3)

Petits Jeux eyeshadow in 09.
It is a dark brown with reddish undertones.

Petits Jeux eyeshadow in 07.
It is more of a taupey brown, my favourite type of browns.

Next is the Rondelle eyeshadow mono. Also comes in 3.5g and priced at the same as the Petits Jeux eyeshadow for 99Rubles (USD3).
I do not know why they are under different names but I guess maybe it is the formulation.
Petits Jeux is more shimmery and softer.

It is a basic brown with gold shimmers that aren;t too heavy or noticeable once applied.

Jeter du Chic eyeshadow duo in 33.
I own one of this in a different shade. The post on it is here.

It is a neutral combination. A shimmery champagne colour and matte brown.
This duo is priced at 119Rubles (About USD3.60).

Everything from this mini eyeshadow haul is very affordable.

Other than that, I have been into hair care since the recommendation of a friend to use L'oreal Elseve's hair mask and also a hair treatment spray to make my hair look healthier.
Now I am on the mission mission to improve my hair quality so that I do not need to trim my hair, I want to grow my hair.

I placed another cherry culture haul to take advantage of the 20% off Memorial Day discount. This time getting mostly Jordana and Milani items.

Spring is here!

Yesterday Stokmann had a huge sales.
The crowd was just magnifique! Anyways, I manage to pick up a perfume I have been wanting for awhile up.

Paco Rabanne's Lady Million
The picture features the purchase I did today and yesterday.
The gold packaging of Lady Million is irresistible.

The diamond cut and the gold is just to classy and elegant.
The scent is for a lady of class at a french restaurant with her champagne drink. Very mature and slightly spicy.
I bought the 30ml bottle so it is slightly different in terms of packaging compared to the full size.

I saw something really interesting in the beauty store today.

The L'oreal Infaillible eyeshadow.
This product not available in my country so I am excited to see it here. It is easier to buy it here than ordering all the way from the USA.

I picked up two colours. Burning Black and Sahara Treasure.
They come in 3.5g of products.

Burning Black - A black with a lot of purple shimmers.
Sahara Treasure - A shimmery sandy brown.

Sahara Treasure.
This one is a bit unique, instead of being named L'oreal Infaillible. This one is is La Couleur Infaillible.
It seems like L'oreal can't stick one name to their product.
I checked and it seems it is a Europe limited colour and it is not available in the US.

Burning Black.

I can't wait to use them. I swatched them a little and it seems to be really pigmented and soft.

The last thing I picked up from the beauty store is Vivienne Sabo's lipbalm.
Just the same old repurchase.

Spring is finally here in Moscow. Snow has melt away which makes me more into the mood of walking.

I might be heading to a spring festival in Arbat street tomorrow - Dreamflash. It is sorta like a bubble festival.
The weather forecasted thunder storm tomorrow but I really hope there won't be a thunder storm.
So excited but I still hope everything goes on smoothly there with the massive amount of people.

I have a new obsession. That is
Sayoko Ozaki .
drop dead gorgeous.

Sayoko Ozaki. Ain't she so pretty?
Her eye makeup is to die for.

Soon it will be spring, 15th haul!

Here comes the monthly 15th haul.
The nearby beauty store always have 15% off every 15th of the month, making it the best time picking up things.

This is what I have picked up.
A bodyshampoo, foundation brush and 3 lipsticks.
Actually I went there because I need a brush, my poor ELF powder brush has been shedding like a cat. It has serve me for a good 4 years.
I wanted a flat top kabuki but sadly the brush selection over here is terrible thus I just pick up a foundation brush to serve me till I fly back home and rush to Sephora for a good flat top brush.

It is unexpectably soft and dense.
It cost 223 rubles before discount. Not too bad of a price.

My three lipsticks.  All of the same brand but different collection.

Vivienne Sabo Rouge Vintage in 409

A sloppy swatch.
It looks scarily brown in the tube but when on the lips, it is a nice rosy brown that flatters every skintone. It is an everyday colour on the go.

Vivienne Sabo Charme de Vous lipstick in 108.
It is suppose to be a peachy pink with some orange undertones. A very pretty spring colour. The camera doesn't seem to be picking up the colour right.

The swatch. Ain't it so pretty?
It is so subtle.

Vivienne Sabo Rouge Vintage in 402.
This is the loudest colour of the bunch and it might be too overbearing to wear it everyday.

It is a bright light barbie pink with purple undertones. It can look chalky and unflattering if your lips are not exfoliated, like mine now.
With the right occasion and eye makeup, it will turn into a beautiful lip colour.
