8th of March Gifts.

Women's Day falls on 8th of March

In Russia, Women's Day is a big holiday.
To read more about the celebration, go to this link.

In conjunction of this celebration, I had Monday off which is great for me. I desperately need a rest.
Also, I feel spring is coming to Mother Russia. There has been more sunlight shone upon us, which makes all of us happy.
We have been doomed with the dull snowy weather for 4 months, it is about time to have sun. Weather have been lovely during the weekends. It has finally hit the 10s.

My roommate gifted me a white tulip.
Tulips are a symbol for women's day.

Someone special gifted me a Lush set.
I haven't opened the gift yet. I am still keeping it in its cute packaging till I am ready to use the products inside.

That person also gifted me two Sochi Soft Touch cases.
I have been looking for these and I am so glad that I have these as gifts. Now I have new phone cases for my Samsung Note. They fit just nice with my Note.

Special someone also gifted me this figure skating cup.

I am showered with gifts, so much love.

I had a stroll in GUM and they transformed the fountain into Tiffany & Co. gift boxes!!
Wow!
Just after the Olympics, the whole area turned from Olympics themed to Tiffany themed.

Blueberry flavoured ice-cream from Gastronom no. 1.
I haven't seen this flavour around before. This is the first time seeing it and also trying it. It taste so good!

So far, I have tried Creme Brulee and Vanilla flavours. I love all of them!

First impression : Lush Herbalism

I just finished my Lush Angels on Bare Skin facial wash.

So I went to Lush to get another facial wash since Angels on Bare Skin worked pretty well for me, it has managed to control the breakouts on my skin.

After much thought, this time I am going to try out Herbalism.

Herbalism is made for problematic and oily skin.
Like its name, it smells pretty herbal but not offputting. Sometimes I don't even notice its scent.

I have been using it since last week, so far it has been keeping my skin under control. It hasn't made it better or my skin has been breaking out.
I am gonna to see how it cleanser works out.

First impression : Lush angels on bare skin

LUSH Angels on bare skin.

I accompanied my friend to Lush because she was in need of a new toner and cleanser. She said that she did some research on Lush's cleansers and she heard a lot of great review on Angels on Bare Skin.
Since I got curious, I just jumped the bandwagon and got it.
Lush products are always on the pricier side here in Moscow. This cleanser is 336 rubles per 100 gram.

I have been using this cleanser for 5 days. I could say it is a pretty decent cleanser.
The cleanser has a soothing lavender scent. The texture is slightly coarse as there is ground almonds and lavender seeds(?).
The first time using this cleanser, I felt a little weird because this cleanser doesn't foam up. I am just so used to foam cleansers and this cleanser is a bit tricky to use. Sometimes you just don't know the right amount that you should use.
After much trial and error, I figure out a chick pea size is just right for my whole face.

The almond milk and oils in this cleanser keeps the skin very soft. The kaolin cleans the skin and removes impurities whereas the ground almonds gently exfoliate the skin.

Becareful! Do not get any ground almonds into the eyes. It hurts.

Up till now, this cleanser has been treating my skin really well, there hasn't been break outs or allergies with it but I don't know if I will repurchase this cleanser because I like a foamy feeling when I wash my face, it feels cleaner. It keeps my face soft after wash. It doesn't leave the face feeling too tight nor oily.
This cleanser doesn't thoroughly cleanse makeup though, a pre-cleansing with makeup remover is definitely needed.

I will see how it works on my skin after using it for a month.

Productive Saturday

I finally got to go out after a long time not really stepping out of my hostel due to my hectic schedule.

First, I am gonna talk about a coffee house, Kofe Haus. This is a Russian chain coffee house.
It is available almost everywhere. Every section, every corner.

I ordered, their hot caramel latte , ice blended caramel latte and hot chocolate marshmallow.

Caramel Hot Latte

Ice blended caramel latte

Marshmallow hot chocolate

I would say I am not a fan of Kofe Haus. Their coffee is way too diluted and there's isn't any aroma in the coffee.
It just feels so bland drinking their coffee, especially the ice blended, it was like drinking water.

Staff service was slow especially on returning change. It is like a Russian thing?
We went away without our change because we couldn't stand waiting for the change.

I would recommend Starbucks over Kofe Haus anytime.

I did some mini purchases along the day

I went into Lush. Lately, Lush has been like one of my favourite brands.

Got two items from Lush.
The Colour Supplement in Light Yellow and Mask of Magnaminty.

It is a green paste with rough seeds.
It smells pepperminty-ish with some weird undertones. I don't know how to explain it.

I have used it yesterday, so far, I like this mask eventhough I haven't seen any effect of it on my face. I will use another few more times to re-ensure if  I really like this mask.

My friend really like this so I jumped on the bandwagon and got one for myself.

I was matched to the colour light yellow by the Lush assistant.
Jackie Oats was too light for me and Light Pink was too dark and it look orange on me.

I like the texture when I tried it.
It is not like a foundation, it is somewhat like a moisturizing makeup base texture with the ability of a foundation.
It feels extremely light. Sounds like a good foundation for the summer,

Accessories I got.

Winter gloves!

This is how it looks on my hand.
I got this glove because it is convenient for me when I use my phone. I do not need to take out my glove everytime I wanna use my phone.

Super cute winter beanie! I feel in love with this upon seeing it at first sight.
It is just so cute!!

Me with the beanie. So in love with it.
The quality is really good too.

FOTD
Me in my current favourite drugstore foundation - L'oreal Lumi Magique.
My colour is in N1 Pure Pearl, the lightest shade in the collection and I am not the lightest skinned person around, the last time I checked I was a NC20, I might be lighter now since I live in the land of snow now and I used to live in a tropical country.

Can you see how luminous it is. It is so gorgeous.

Hello Chilly November

Welcome November. It's also welcome winter to the land of snow and vodka.

Finally bought new winter boots to get myself prepared for the harsh winter here.
I really need these boots since I do not have any boots for winter.

Dark navy boots.

UGG style inspired grey boots.

I did a small skincare buy too since my skin was peeling and flaking due to the extreme dryness over here.

This is the first time purchasing skincare from Lush. It is the Celestial Facial Moisturizer. I would say it is kinda pricey at about 739Rub per tub of 40g but I really like it when I tried the tester, it felt so moisturizing.

I applied for the first time last night and my skin felt so soft. It might feel oily for people with oily skin but currently have dry, flakey skin so it absorbed the moment I rub the moisturizer into my skin.

It comes in Lush typical black tub.

The cream is pure white.

I have been thinking for some time whether I should get this because I am not into Western BB creams after using Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB and Eveline Cosmetics BB.
Lately, I am starting to accept Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB after applying it with a brush, I feel like it did its job after applying with a brush. My skin looked so smooth and radiant.

Jumped the bandwagon and got Garnier's BB Cream.

I havent used it or swatched it yet. So for now I don't know how is the consistency of this BB cream but I can't wait to use it in the future.

Happy New Year and Fashion haul.

So overdue in posting.

First, Happy New Year everyone.

And next I am finally having my holidays.

I finally cleared all my credits and got automatic marks thus I am free for a month.

Went shopping yesterday.
Sale is in the air.

Got myself an amazing coat from Zara.
Classy and elegant.
I know it looks like a pile of darkness with the small picture.

I also got jeans from Zara and Bershka.

The washout denim is from Zara.
the dark one is Bershka's.

My female groupmates and I basically got crazy over Zara coats!

Actually not only the girls. My friend's beau got himself a 5999rubles coat. I guess when guys lay their eyes on something, it always get more expensive than what the girls get.

I am no longer a Lush virgin! Hit the stores and got myself my first Lush product.
From outside the shop stinks.

Got the porridge soap. It smells heavenly but melts easily.
Even under this subzero temperature.
I do not know what will become of it if I bring it back to Malaysia.
Porridge soup?
And yea, this soap smells heavenly. I am a vanilla freak. Anything that smells close to that, gets approved by me =)
