Tiny Events #16

Ever since my semester ended I have put this blog aside for the moment to enjoy my life. Can't blame me because no class means more travelling and going out for me and ofcourse, settling paperworks.
Also, I have been out of Moscow for the last past week. I had short trip to Suzdal in Russia and Rhodes in Greece.

I am also been packing my luggage since I am leaving Russia for good at the end of July. I do not want to pack last minute because I do not have the time for it, I have a tight schedule after my finals and, it would be hard to sort everything out then on what I need to bring home and what's gonna be donated and into the trash.
I am glad my parents are coming over because it means extra luggage weight for me.
Six years worth of stuffs is a heck load. Can't carry them all alone back home.

I have also emptied half of my makeup from my makeup drawer into my luggage. I have packed them nicely in solid boxes or tupperwares. I have learned my lessons from all my experiences with checking in.
Definitely pack them solid boxes or tupperwares, it prevents any sort of damage. I have never experienced any damages from this way of packing.
I used to throw my makeup in the makeup bag, wrapped the makeup bag with my clothes and throw them into the check in and I often got dented makeup packaging at the end of the day.

Also, I have finally booked my flight back home. Feels so unreal. I am having pretty much mixed feelings right now. I will do a post about it some other day when I collect all my thoughts together.

Another side note, I have been obsessed with this Norwegian singer, AURORA

On the beauty note,
There have been so many new releases in the US right now. I am pretty much very excited for many releases and I have been saving up money for some items that I have been eyeing on.

The few products I have been eyeing are the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette, the new Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks in Rose Matter, Gemini, Becca x Jaclyn Hill new collaboration, Too Faced Chocolate Palette.

I find like how crazy it is, like the beauty industry is now pushing out items faster than we could save to get them. Releases are going out like "bang!" before I know, another eye palette is releasing or a new liquid lipstick shade is releasing.

Ofcourse I can't afford to buy every release, I do not grow a money tree and everything bought is with my own money. I will check reviews and swatches before actually getting them. When there's too many releases, you just have to decide to get the items you need or really really want and not for the sake of getting it.
Also, try to shop the stash because I find that most eyeshadow palettes being released of late, the shades are about the same. It is either the neutral browns, warm neutral palette or gold brown palette.
I love those shades but no one needs 4218381 eyeshadow palettes of the same shade.
Ok, now look who is talking, the same girl who probably owns 100 eyeshadow palettes of the same shade. I am trying to cut down.

For now, I do not own a warm neutral palette yet. That is why I am getting the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette. That palette is gorgeous, it has a range of very workable neutral shades with warm shades. I definitely love the throw of pink and berry shades into the palette, it adds on a pop to the palette and it's great too since I do not own pink or berry eyeshadow shades yet. Heard that Anastasia releases great quality palettes too. Just sadly all previous releases are limited editions and didn't manage to get any of those.

I am still thinking about the Too Faced Chocolate palettes. I have been wanting them eversince they were released, just never got around to getting them. I need to get to Sephora once I go back home and swatch the palette to see if I really need it.

And, THREE has launched in Malaysia. THREE is a Japanese makeup brand and I am just excited that is now readily available in my country. I have been so interested in this brand because whenever I flip through the Japanese fashion magazines. I see many fashion models using this brand. Can't wait to raid the store.

The end of my rant this time.

Tiny Events #15

I can't believe how close am I to graduating. I am left with a few weeks before I end my semester. This is crazy.

As of how classes has been going. It has been pretty tiring. I am not having the most relaxing of cycles but life has been still manageable. Mostly during the weekdays my schedule is repetitive. Only the weekends, I would have time to myself but I spent most of the time lazing around since I am too exhausted because of the weekdays' workload.

Last weekend I spent my whole weekend watching Figure Skating World Championship. Bless my landlord who provided us TV and cable channels. Imagine those days I would have to livestream the heck out of everything in the hostel and when the internet snaps, it's gone case.

These few days I have been sick. I have been hit with a bad cold. I am constantly coughing and my runny nose is not under control. I did a X-ray check up for my university documentation and the doctor was like looks like you have bronchitis and I was like no surprise, I am having flu and it is bad. I have been controlling my cold with nasal drops and water intake.
My cold usually last about 2-3 weeks. I hope I recover as soon as possible.

It has been a joy baking and I have been baking non-stop.
This is my second try for cinnamon rolls and they are tasty enough for me. Must better than the first time where the rolls end up hard and dry and lack of cinnamon filling.
Instead of using cream cheese or coffee glaze to top off my rolls, I used condensed milk because I was lazy but it turned out nice too.

I also had made my own Kachapuri for the first time.
The last time I went to a Georgian restaurant and tried Kachapuri, I fell in love with this bread and I was determined to make one for myself.
I did not use as much butter as needed because I do not want to clog the arteries of those who are going to eat it including myself. I still need to improve on my kachapuri recipe. This time, I made the dough too thick and put in too little cheese. So on the thicker parts, all you can eat is just the bread which is not really nice. The next time, I am going all out and stuff it with cheese to death.
The cheese I used is Suluguni. It is a type of Georgian cheese.

I booked my flight the other day to London. So it is confirmed that I will be going to London before the start of July. I really miss London and I am so glad I am able to go back there one more time before heading back to Asia.
There is just so many things I miss about London. I miss the atmosphere, roaming down the streets , having a nice cup of tea with delicious scones, Mark and Spencer. Let me tell you, I enjoy Mark and Spencer food. I love their scones, salads, pastries. So affordable and delicious.
I am saving some money this time around so I could shop till I drop (maybe not..) in Selfridges , Boots and Superdrug. I am compiling my long wishlist. I am looking forward to get some items from Charlotte Tilbury, Tanya Burr, Sleek and Zoeva. Hopefully I have enough money then since there is so many things that I want.

It is a shame that eversince Sephora took over Luxola, the prices of Zoeva has gone up so drastically. It is off putting. So, one of my choices now is to get it in Selfridges where they have a full display of Zoeva items.
Even in Germany, only the basic brushes are available on display in Douglas. The rest, you have to purchase online. Such a shame, if not I would had gotten everything when I was in Munich.
I want the new blush palette and the Cocoa Blend Palette.

The YSL Encre de Peau Blushers are finally here in Moscow. I kind of want them because they are like gel blushers but I do not know if I will get them. I will go and play around with the testers before I decide.

Tiny events #14

So, the spot of death attacked my camera again and now I have sent my camera for some repair works and cleaning. It has been an annual thing where dust will just accumulate at my sensor. It is getting pretty annoying to send my camera for such routine cleaning yearly.
Looks like I will not have my trusty camera with me for some time.

"I have just ended my hectic therapy cycle which means I will have more free time updating on my blog. It has not been an easy 5 weeks, it has been very tiring.
Now I have ended it, I guess I will miss this cycle.
I do not post pictures of me in classes but here's a picture to the end of my therapy cycle and also my final one.
I do not usually wear makeup to class but since it was the last day and we are going to have a photoshoot after class, I just slapped on some makeup on my face. "

" On the night where I have ended my therapy cycle, I went and feast on food with my housemates. We had Cinnabon's Pecanbon and Magnolia bakery's cakes. What a sinful night.
The calories for a Pecanbon is a whooping 1100 calories per piece. That is like my one day's worth of calories intake. Ok, I lied, not one day's worth, maybe 80% of daily calorie intake.
It's only once in awhile. We will be fine.

Pecanbon is so deliciously sinful. My favourite out of all the flavours they have to offer. "

" Magnolia bakery has a 20% off all cakes and cupcakes after 9pm. We actually waited till 9pm to order our cake so we could take advantage of the 20% off.
20% off is still money for us poor university students.
I have not seen this flavour around. It is their Pistachio cake. Their Pistachio cake is really good too.
Magnolia bakery is one of the good bakeries that is hard to come by in Moscow.
I always go there for their cakes.  "

" This is my first time making lasagna and it turned out to be quite a success. Lasagna is very easy to make but very time consuming as you have to prepare two different sauces and then boil the pasta and layer the pasta, sauces and cheese, finally bake them. By the way, I shred my own cheese.
I did not use the traditional lasagna recipe with Bechamel sauce, instead, I opt for the Straganoff. It is less fattening and healthier with low fat sour cream and much easier to make. No whisking needed .
It also taste equally delicious. It does not compromise the flavour of the lasagna.  "

On the beauty topic.
I have been controlling my makeup hauling habits this month because I am broke as heck.
I have been hauling too much for the past months. I have been so into liquid lipsticks That I picked up quite a number of them from various brands.
So, await a huge haul when I fly home during summer.
Releases in Russia has been extremely extremely slow, I guess it is due to their unstable currency. There's any hardly any new launches from brands like L'oreal, Maybelline and Rimmel. Even the trend editions from Catrice and Essence takes forever to be shipped in. The Rimmel The One Lipstick, Maybelline The Nudes Blushed palette, some of the L'oreal Infalliable line items and Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet new shades just came in not too long ago but they are like a past story in other places of the world.
I am looking forward picking up some of the Rimmel The One Lipsticks and new shades of Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet especially those Rouge Edition Velvet. I have been waiting for the shades for eons.

Tiny events #13

Since I just came back from a good 2 weeks MIA. I thought I would give some updates on my life.

I arrived at the airport last Saturday , Sunday is Chinese New Year Eve and my semester reopens on Monday. We basically did not have any time to prepare for Chinese New Year so we just randomly tried to put up a reunion dinner in the spirits of Chinese New Year.
We picked the simplest thing to do which is hot pot, a fuss free comfort food. All we did is get all the ingredients from the market and supermarket and boil a pot of Tom Yam soup and we were good to go.

There will more Chinese New Year celebrations to come though.

This is my last Chinese New Year celebration in Moscow and next year, I will actually be back to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family. I am just so excited for that. I haven't been celebrating Chinese New Year with my family for 6 years. It is such an achievement to have gone through 6 years without celebrating with them.

Redyed my hair.
The Garnier Olia Intense Dye just does not give any colour to my hair. I do not know is it my hair being stubborn or this dye just works bad. I had to dye my hair twice to achieve this shade. First I used the some honey brown shade and it came out dark brown which got me so frustrated. I had to get a blonde shade to redye my hair to achieve my desired colour which is a light brown.
I dyed my hair twice in a week's time which is quite damaging to the hair and scalp. My scalp is really sensitive but thank goodness my hair did not fall as much this time.

I havent did much since I came back from the holidays because I have been really busy with classes. My schedule is pretty much wake up, class, back home, exercise, dinner, study + internet, sleep and repeat. With some grocery shopping during the weekends.
Class has been so tiring. It has been like draining my soul from me and I cant believe this cycle lasts for 5 weeks.

On the beauty topic,
There has been lots of new products releases in the beauty market of late. I do not know if this is good news. My wallet is going to break and cry.
It is just so hard to keep up with the enormous amount of releases.
Is there any items that you all have been looking forward trying?
So far, I have been eyeing on the Jeffree Star Skin Frost ,Colour Pop Ultra Satin Lip, Colour Pop UML in Lumiere 2, Dose of Colors Desert Suede. Trying to keep it minimal.
Also, I can't wait till Jeffree Star restocks Doll Parts. I am so happy that he decided to make this shade permanent because it is such a beautiful shade.
Looks like I am going to have a beauty long wishlist.

This semester is going to be a busy semester for me. It is my final semester. So nervous yet excited for graduation. I will be busy with lots of tests and presentations that I might slack a little with my blog but I will try my best to keep posting atleast twice a week.

Tiny events #12

It has been a long time since I updated my tiny events. It is because I have been busy catching up with some stuffs in life and my life has not been very interesting for the past couple of weeks.

It is exam period again. Tomorrow will be my final paper for the semester. I am giving an update on my life right now before I go missing in action for 2 weeks.
For the next 2 weeks, I will be on my winter trip to Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
I will have limited access to internet as per usual and I won't be updating the blog.

' So, the weather update in Moscow. You know your life is mundane when you have nothing better to talk about other than the weather. Well, my life is as such.
There has been a heavy snowstorm and it has been snowing nonstop for a couple of days. Moscow has been a winter wonderland and my balcony is covered with snow and I do not know what to do with it. I can literally build a few snowmen with the amount snow accumulating right there.
Should I leave it or shovel it? What do people do? I have no experience with snow and balconies within my entire life span.
When there's strong wind, my room's insulation is terrible. Wind enters from every crevices of the window and it does not feel pleasant at all. The heating system is not bad I can feel the centralized heater working, heat dispersing from it , it is just that when there's wind, it does not tackle the coldness anymore. It is basically freezing in the room. Does not help when it is cold and it is -10 or lower outside. We had stuffed clothes around the crevices and there's a huge thick curtain covering the windows but it does not help at all. '

This is a little random but also I want to talk about inflation in Moscow. I know the crisis over here does not help but I find how obnoxious that prices hike like every few weeks over here.
I am experiencing crisis too.
I was browsing the web the other day looking at YSL because there's a few things I wanted to get from YSL and I realized that they had hiked up the prices by 200-300 Rubles in a fortnight. It is pretty crazy if you tell me.
Eversince the currency crisis over here, I have observed that prices has hiked up more than 50% since last year.
My heart drops everytime I see price changes on the website.

' This football looking cake is a Medovik cake from the brand Dobrinskiy. I find the cake design really cute. I know it is supposed to resemble honeycombs but to me it looks like a football.
I was craving for cake the other day and one of the supermarket chains were having an offer for this cake so I bought it.
I did not regret buying it because it is so yummylicious. Every layer is so creamy and the cake moist.
If you are a medovik lover like me, I recommend you to try this cake. Without the offer, it is pretty pricey though but still worth it.
Also, never buy pre-made packed medovik from the dry corner, it taste disgusting. Buy the fresh one. '

Lately I find joy in ebay shopping. I have not gone ebay shopping crazy by ordering 34284293 items. I just have been buying some cheap makeup brushes from ebay with hopes that they will be good and to replace some of my very old brushes. I don't expect them to be superior to the Sigma or MAC brushes but good enough for me.
I do not know is it me but I am still at that stage that I am not willing to fork out a huge sum of money on makeup brushes. The most I will pay is probably Sigma or Zoeva level other than that It is too expensive for me. Maybe someday the day will come when I invest in brushes. When I have the extra cash to splurge.

On the topic of beauty products,
The other day my mum asked me for help to place an order for some Korean cosmetics and beauty products. Usually I get really excited and throw a few items in the shopping cart along with her items to take advantage of the joint shipping.
This time around when I was browsing Korean cosmetics and beauty products to pick up, I don't get as excited as I used to. It is like they don't grab my attention anymore.
I used to haul a ton of Korean products. Then, when I started using them, I realize I am always underwhelmed at the products and my love for Korean beauty products faded.
They still have a few great cosmetic products like the cushion foundations, BB and CC creams which I love. Most of the time, I just find most of the products to be extremely hyped up and gimmicky. I am not trying to throw shade at Korean products. It might work out for some of you but on the most part, it didn't for me. This is just my thought on Korean beauty products

Now, in my beauty and makeup corner, for skincare, I have been reaching for Japanese products and French pharmaceutical brands and makeup wise, it's a mix between American, European and Japanese and Korean makeup.
I have been buying most American beauty products of late, it might be a phase.
Instagram made me buy everything.

Sorry for a wordy post this time with lack of photographs and the post seems so disconjoint.
This post is not very typical of my tiny events post but I feel that future tiny events post will be of such. It's so not "tiny events' anymore but I am so lazy to rename the post. Let's keep it that day.

If you manage to get through this post, thanks so much for reading.

Tiny Events #11

It is almost the end of November, I can't believe how time flew by so fast. It has been awhile since summer break and it is almost the end of the 1st semester of my final year. I am so nervous heading towards graduation.
As usual, I am stuck with my usual busy schedule. I am just a boring person. November is probably more happening due to 482943 Diwali open houses and catching the figure skating grand prix in Luzhniki Small Arena. Also, end of this week, Black Friday and Thanksgiving.
Can't wait for the black friday and cyber mondays sales.

So I am gonna round up my past 3 weeks in pictures.

" I have started doing my own bread and now I am hooked. Basically, I have been baking my own bread weekly. I find doing this is much more economical and also much healthier. You know what you are putting in to make your bread.
This is the picture of my first bread. Not very aesthetically pleasing and doesn't taste well too, I forgot all about the salt but going to improve from now on. Also, the dough didn't rise as much as I wanted it to. I suspect it is because I didn't use a good yeast.
I changed my yeast and I saw improvements in my dough. So far, I have made normal loafs, raisin buns and cinnamon buns.  "

" Also, not aesthetically pleasing. I do not make beautiful food but trust me, it taste much better than it looks.
I have been enjoying homemade pizza much more than takeaways or in restaurants. It gives you space to experiment with the toppings and not to mention, much healthier too. You can add in more greens and less cheese and sauces.
Definitely have been enjoying my things homemade of late to the point I have not been eating out. "

" Kolam a form of drawing made by using coloured rice. They are really popular during Diwali celebration. It is thought to be bring good luck.
My friends invited us over for their Diwali open house, since I did not manage to take any pictures of the food since the it was too crowded. It will let you all feast your eyes with this Kolam.
It is our final year celebrating Diwali abroad, so they decided to make it a big celebration, create good memories of Diwali abroad. "

"Manage to hit the mall. I am still finding for a suitable graduation dress. At the same time searching the perfect makeup products too.
I really like this dress from Zara. It is so glam and glittery but I could not decide if I should get it.
The glitter fall out is massive. I just can't afford that kind of mess in my wardrobe and room. Also, I do not want to end up with a glitter-less dress at the end of the day with the price I am paying for this dress.
Anyway this dress is so beautiful to look at.

During my journey in the mall, I spotted MAC's new collection with their "Oh! Darling" highlighter. I love the highlighter it is so beautiful but in the end I did not get it because I feel like it is not worth it to fork out 2500 Rubles for the highlighter. It is way overpriced. Somehow the collection came to Russia being priced much higher than US and even Malaysia. With that amount of money, I could have gotten myself Becca's highlighter with some so change.
So, I ditched getting it eventhough it is like extremely gorgeous. "

" This is the food from my Halloween party with my groupmates in the hostel.
I have been feed ridiculous amounts of food of late. I am never gonna go hungry.
The selection of food this time is very cheesy, basically most of the menu has cheese in it. Too heavy for my stomach to handle.
By the way, I made pizza. "

Tiny Events #10

10th tiny events post! Yipee!
Happy times do not last forever, I just see my favourite month aka my birthday month flew by just like that and I feel like I didn't do anything really productive in October. Now, let's welcome November, the last month of Autumn and soon we will be welcoming the chilly weather of winter. I do not welcome winter, I loathe winter. Maybe it would not be so bad if winter over here in Moscow doesn't like last half a year and the temperature is so darn cold and the roads usually turn into ice skating rings.
Weather here has been weird these few days, it can rain one moment and then summer weather the next. Even so, the weather has been making me moodless to do anything besides being in room, doing some activities in the room, everything in the room. I just do not feel like stepping out of my apartment. This cycle will continue till spring comes.
Wow, I must be be a boring person, I talk nothing besides the weather.
Other than that I have been doing my drafts for my haul posts. I finally got really hardworking in organizing and editing my photos from my past hauls. So, please await many haul posts soon.
With the amount of haul posts I do, people can just see how much of a shopaholic I am. Well, I am one of those girls who can't resist makeup.

' Baked Pizza with my roommates the other day, mine's the left. The not so pretty breakfast platter pizza (minced meat + scrambled egg + cheese), super easy to make and delicious. I can't exactly remember where did I get the inspiration for it. If I am not mistaken it's Buzzfeed.
The right one is my roommate's the beautiful tuna pizza. From the pizza you can see that I am messy person from the product of my pizza. '

' It was that night during my birthday dinner when I saw this car in the streets of Moscow City Center. The Back in the Future car. Could not resist taking a picture. '

' Few weeks ago we had a gathering in our apartment. These are the food from the gathering.
The only thing fried in this menu is the noodles. The rest is either baked or boiled. Pretty healthy. I am a fan of the roast chicken and potato salad.  '

'Since the weather is constantly changing. I have been getting sick countless times, from sore throat to cough to flu to mouth ulcers. A neverending cycle. Currently while typing this post, I am sick. I am down with cough and mouth ulcers and Hor Yan Hor Chinese herbal tea has been my best friend.
I need the weather to stabilize, if not I will continue getting sick. I am so done with my immunity.  '

Tiny Events #9

Hello October. October is my favourite month because it is my birthday month. Also say hello to autumn. Autumn weather is my favourite weather where the temperature is niether too hot nor cold, trees turn into various shades of warmth and every leaf a flower.

" I did slightly mentioned that I have moved from my hostel to an apartment starting this semester.
Here's a view from the balcony of my apartment. I currently live on the 19th floor of the building.

So far I have been adapting very well living in an apartment. It is definitely much more comfortable compared living in the hostel. We did not mind living in the hostel but ever since the fire outbreak last April on our floor, we have been relocated various times from room to room. We got really tired of moving and decided to move out once and for all. It wasn't much to lose since we are all on our final year in university. It is a better option for us since the apartment is fully furbished, so, we do not need to spend money to get new furnitures and stuffs. It is not worth it since we are on our final year, there's no point spending anymore on furnitures and stuffs, we can't transport all of them back home. If we have opted for the hostel, we might need to get new furnitures. "

" Since we started living outside. We find ourselves cooking more and nicer dishes too.

That's Bak Choy with Oyster Sauce and Steamed Tom Yam Fish with Tofu

I found out that there's a Vietnamese market near my place and now I head over there basically every weekend to get my Asian grocery fix. This makes me so happy that now I can cook my local cuisine much more often and get a taste of home. "

" Krispy Kreme takeaway for us. A way to treat ourselves after moving.

I know I should be cutting off all the junk food since I am trying to back on track and restart my weight loss journey. My weight has been increasing. "

" My groupmate invited me over to her Eid-Al-Adha open house.

All these Malay cuisine. Rendang, Ayam masak merah, acar, nasi impit, kuah kacang. I just can't control myself upon seeing these food. I miss Malay food so much and I can't cook Malay food well to treat myself to Malay food so I went a little crazy with the food. She just cooks so well. "

Tiny Events #8

" I had spent 3 weeks of my summer holidays in Malaysia. It is ofcourse really nice to be with family. I just miss my family so much since I had left to further my studies for 6 years. I always go back during my summer break, I still feel really homesick.
I just can't wait to go home after I finish my six year studies.

I took this photo just right before my flight back to Moscow. My heart just feels heavy leaving my family.
On the bright side, I am left with one more year before I return to them for good
ps I bought too much chocolates at the duty free. Got myself 1kg worth of Hersheys chocolates. "

" Sushi from Ashan hypermarket.
I haven't seen an actual sushi bar in a hypermarket in Russia. This is something new. The Ashan in Aviapark is definitely a level up compared to other Ashans I have visited.
The food corner is much cleaner and organized and the checkout counter is automated. I did not find the automated counter any more convenient than the traditional cashier since we had to go through the cashier to get the bill to pay through the automated checkout counter.

Still, the sushi is a pleasant surprise. What is more surprising is that they hired the Japanese restaurant chain to cater for the sushi.
Aviapark is really far from where I live. I don't see myself going there often. "

" Krispy Kreme over here has released new choco mania flavours.
Ofcourse I had to try them out because they are all chocolate and I just love chocolate. I mean who doesn't? "

" Walking around in Red Square.
This was the day that I prepared for a photoshoot with my new groupmates. Had a nice time getting around with my groupmates and we had lunch together at Beverly Hills Diner.
What happened to my old group, well there's serious drama going on in my faculty. I will leave that some other day after I peacefully escaped this country. "

" In the heart of Moscow, the FIFA countdown clock has been installed to commemorate 1000 days to FIFA 2018.
The clock is located in Manezhskaya Square, just outside of Red Square. "

" Magnolia Bakery is still my favourite bakery here in Moscow.
I would say they definitely produced the most yummy cakes, pastries, muffins, you name it over here.
Banana Pudding Pie.
The Banana Pudding is Magnolia Bakery's best seller. I haven't tried the banana pudding until today where I wanted a little twist instead of just plain banana pudding , I ordered the banana pudding pie and it is just so delicious!
I just wanna fly to Magnolia Bakery now and get more cakes and pies. "

Tiny Event #7

I finally finished 3 out of 4 of my exams. This explains the lack of updates. It is exam month! It has been a hectic and stressful month. June is always the stressful and hectic month and then we will welcome summer holidays!

' Flowers blooming. This was taken during our last cycle of classes where we had to travel to another hospital for lectures. The hospital was so beautiful, the compound was filled with flowers of all sorts and colours. The weather was really sunny and hot that day too '

' Burning the midnight oil. We studied from from day till day, not day till night. This was taken before my sleep.
Sunrise at 2.30am in Moscow. The sun sets really late at about 10pm and rises at 2.30am. We had lots of daylight during the spring and summer months over here. This is something we really appreciate as the winter months over here is really dark and gloomy. There's hardly any sun and it is super cold.
Summer weather over here is slightly warm for now, temperatures has not exceed 30 so far. Surprisingly it has been raining a lot over here for the past month. '

' A beautiful sunny day in Moscow. During exam period, there are days that I went out for a walk to take a break and get some fresh air. '

' Strawberries are in season. This is my favourite stall to get strawberries from. They are more expensive compared to other stalls in the market but the strawberries are so sweet compared to other stalls which are sour.
You get what you paid. '

' My share of strawberries, they are so red , plump and juicy looking. I got 600 grams of strawberries.
I have been loving strawberries so much that I have been getting them every week. '

' Korean lunch post exam. '

Tiny Events #6

So previously I have talked about the unfortunate incident that there was a fire breakout in my hostel at my floor. Now, things have pretty much settled down and I have temporarily moved to another hostel for the time being as there were no empty slots or rooms for us.

' The view from our new room. The grey shades of suburban Moscow. Definitely a much nicer view compared to my old room. I am kinda sad that this room is only temporarily available to us because it is such a great room. '

' Our first meal in the room. We consider this as an open house ceremony with all the sushi. We ordered our sushi via an apps called delivery-club.ru from this sushi shop called "Bento Wok" which offers sushi sets for an affordable price. For a sushi delivery shop, I would rate the sushi from this shop decent for its price. '

'Sirniki. It is a type of Russian thick pancake made from quark. This is my first time making it and it it wasn't so successful as I added in too much flour, thus the aroma from the quark did not stand out too much. I made it the second time again after that and it was a success. It is a pretty easy pancake to make, all you need are quark, flour, sugar, salt, egg, vanilla essence and raisins (optional).'

' Spring is finally here. On the way from the post office back to my hostel. I went out to pick up from order from Aliexpress.com . So, expect a huge Aliexpress haul soon?  '

Exam period is coming up soon, Tiny events will be kind of boring with not much going around with my life. If I were to update a 'day in my life', I will definitely bore everyone to death.

Tiny Events #5

Hi everyone, It is already May. I have finally settled down and moved to my new temporary accommodation after the fire outbreak but I still do not have internet connection so I have been leeching off the free wifi.
This post has been retrieved from my draft, I will do a proper post once I get the room sorted and also the internet connection sorted out.

What have I been up to? Well, I am been slacking with easier classes. Have been finding myself going back watching Japanese dramas, catching up with Japanese music and idols.
Lately, I have been catching up with the Spring season dramas, most notably - Yokoso, Wagaya e.
Also, I have been listening to mostly LDH artist and finding out more about this new group Johnny WEST.
That is that, before I start rambling further.

"I finally baked the Walkers Luxury 9 Miniature Mince Meat tart and oh gosh, they taste so heavenly. I want more! They got a unique taste, despite being a mince meat tart, it doesn't taste meaty at all. It is full of taste of spice and fruits. Very nice twist to the tarts.
I am definitely going to get myself some when I go back to London next year. If visiting the UK definitely something to look out. "

" Forensics medicine cycle. All the hips don't lie.
There were no corpse during our classes just bones, skulls and bits and pieces of preserved organs."

"Mcdonalds breakfast menu is probably my favourite from their menu. I love the Mcmuffins.
When we had our forensics medicine classes, our class were located near a Mcdonalds. On the last day of class, we decided to stop at Mcdonalds to get ourselves some Mcmuffins. My favourite has to be the Egg Mcmuffin.
I got the Egg muffin and a berry pie. I like the apple pie but apparently they do not have apple pie on their menu. Looks like the apple pie is not a staple on their Russian menu. "

"Last week marks my last class in Hospital 15 for the semester. I am definitely missing their cafe's food. I really like their breads and pastry. They are really good.
This is my favourite. I do not know it is called but it has quark and raisins. It is just really delicious.
Next semester onwards I am having most of my classes right in this hospital, maybe I could satisfy myself with their pastry and bread before I graduate. "

" Shopping at 'Fixed Price', it is like the dollar store of Russia but ofcourse items are not priced at a dollar, they are 43 Rubles for every item.
I just so happened to pass by a 'Fixed Price' the other day and when crazy at the food section. I got a lot of snacks from the food section and I will do a "Fixed Price" haul soon.
I am a happy girl with all my snacks. "

Tiny events #4

My camera has been sent for sensor dust cleaning thus I have not been in the mood for blogging with pictures, I just feel insecure without my camera. It all has been well though, I will be collecting my camera back real soon and pictures will start rolling in. Camera photos shall do the trick for now.

' I am always grocery shopping in Auchan or more known stylized as Ashan over here in Russia but I haven't posted up pictures of how the hypermarkets looks like there, I feel I should take you all around a look in Ashan. Just sometimes, when I get too into grocery shopping I just forgot to snap pictures of the hypermarket. Just a sneak peak of the biscuit/cookies aisle, Not the most interesting Usually prices in Ashan are the cheapest so I do most of my groceries over there.   '

' The Chinese market is not somewhere I often go because it is quite far from where I live, I find that it is a hassle to travel.
Since this time my class is near the Chinese market, I am visiting the Chinese market more often to get my tofu supply. I like the tofu here, it is fresh and cheap. We have tofu, taupok, handmade noodles, tofu skin.
I do not get tofu from the hypermarket, it is very much overpriced. It is really hard to get tofu in Moscow.'

' Marie is my favourite character, if you can't guess it, I guess you should know it by now.
The stationery corner in Ashan carries exercise books with Marie as the front cover. My little Marie fan just couldn't resist and I got a stack of them. '

'Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup.
There is an authentic Vietnamese food stall inside Dubrovka wholesale center.
The Vietnamese food is really nice and affordable. What I like is that you get a good portion for the price paid. I usually share my portion since I could not finish one bowl by myself, that is coming from a girl. My male friends could finish them but it will leave them really full.
This is our new favourite place to eat out. It can get full during lunch hours since there are only three tables available. '

' It snowed heavily on Sunday. Winter is back? We hope it is really the last snow and soon we will be welcoming spring.
The weather has been really beautiful and sunny until Saturday. Now, It has been awfully cold.We want our spring weather back with lots of sunshine. '
